Dr. Sarah Poteet's passion for dentistry and helping people stems from her own dental experiences. She is known for her exceptional skills, gentle touch, kind spirit, and the ability to listen to her patients. She appeared on ABC's The View with Barbara Walters to receive the Remarkable Woman Award from Johnson and Johnson in 2003. Dr. Poteet was named "New Dentist of the Year" by the Dallas County Dental Society and has been named "Best Dentist" in D Magazine since 2007. She was also awarded a prestigious Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and completed a preceptorship in the Bale Doneen Method of cardiovascular disease prevention.
In addition to her busy practice, Dr. Poteet volunteers her time with the Women's Junior League of Dallas and holds board positions for several non-profit organizations. Dr. Poteet also started an annual college scholarship at Highland Park High School for students pursuing education in health care.
Dr. Poteet graduated from Texas Tech University and then received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She was one of a select few to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency. Dr. Poteet is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), the Dallas County Dental Society (DCDS), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the American Academy of Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH).
