Mikyung Chun has joined forces with friend Romeo Sozzi, owner and head designer of the Promemoria furniture line, to bring the high-end Italian line to the Design District. Everything here is of the highest quality—and this is a line all about originality. The pieces are a combination of old-world technique and new-age technology. A piece handcrafted in Italy might boast innovative lighting, for example. And even though this is a to-the-trade showroom, Chun invites everyone to pop in. “I really want to have a chance for the retail customer to come by and see it. In New York, there are many people who go to check and see what they like themselves, and then they tell their designers about it,” she says. “I hope I can have the opportunity to have that here.”
