"I firmly believe that, equipped with the right team of collaborative professionals to guide you, you and your spouse will be able to achieve an agreement that is more creative, more beneficial, and more satisfying than anything a perfect stranger in a black robe could devise.”
Family law problems involve life-altering decisions that often must be made while under extreme stress. Curtis takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, and then maps out the available options at each decision point in the case. He works with clients to choose the best route, whether through mediation, collaborative law, or litigation, to accomplish their most important objectives.
As a partner working in the Plano office of Goranson Bain, Curtis serves a range of professional clients who live in Collin County, along with Dallas and Denton counties. With 20 years of litigation experience, Curtis is very comfortable in the courtroom. Yet he also recognizes that most people would rather avoid the courtroom and try to resolve their conflict themselves with help.
Curtis is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law, and is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has been selected to "Texas Super Lawyers" by Thomson Reuters each year since 2008. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Collin County Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association. In addition, Curtis serves on the Board of Directors for the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas.
At GoransonBain, we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver sound legal advice while attempting to de-escalate contentious, emotional situations. Our legal team can help the residents of Texas with the following family law matters:
