Jessica A. Shepherd, MD, MBA, FACOG is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She is a gynecological surgeon and provides full spectrum gynecologic care for women of all ages. She is also nationally known in the media for her expert opinion and has been seen regularly on Good Morning America, The Today Show, Dr. Oz, Steve Harvey, CBS News, and FOX news, while also using her voice in various radio programs nationwide such as Doctors Radio and Tom Joyner.
Dr. Shepherd is a passionate women's health advocate that uses her voice to speak on reproductive rights, healthcare disparities and health rights awareness. She has also written in various journals including Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Women's Day, Women's Health, Self, Family Circle, Parents, LifeScript.com, Heart and Soul, Best Health, Essence, and WebMD.
Dr. Shepherd has published several scientific articles in many peer-reviewed journals, in addition to published book chapters. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG).
As women’s health care expert, she strives to educate women on their bodies and how to address their physical, sexual, emotional health in addition to the incorporation of wellness. Her involvement with various foundations as a board member has allowed her to actively make decisions in the women's health realm. She has served on the board of the Multicultural Leadership Committee of the American Heart Association and also the Women's Health Foundation and uses her expertise to help women understand their health conditions and how to address them appropriately.
Dr. Shepherd received her medical degree from Ross University in Dominica W.I. before completing an internship and residency at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She also completed a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and her MBA at the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY.
Dr. Shepherd is married and has two children. She enjoys working out and yoga as well as providing media correspondence nationally, speaking at conferences, traveling, listening to music and sampling different cuisines.
