The Texas summer heat is hard to hide from, but Six Flags Hurricane Harbor can provide a day’s worth of respite. Thrill seekers will find fun on a handful of massive waterslides, such as Geronimo, which drops you into a 6-story freefall, and Tornado, a 60-foot-tall water funnel that’ll leave your head spinning. There’s also the Mega Wedgie, one of the park’s newest attractions, which sends riders shooting across its 83-foot-wide wings at more than 20 miles per hour. Looking for something a little less break-neck? Learn to hang ten inside a million-gallon wave pool, head downstream in the relaxing Lazy River, or stay un-pruned and catch a few rays at the Suntan Lagoon. The net ladders and water cannons at Hook’s Lagoon Treehouse are great for kids, and Hurricane Harbor hosts live music shows, special events, and other festivities on occasion.
