Owner Paula Kornye-Tillman’s parents founded the original Galerie Konrye in Dallas in the late 1960s. After developing an interest in art, Kornye-Tillman earned a degree in art history and eventually opened her own gallery in 1998. Although the family ties exist, Kornye West differs from its Dallas sibling in that it focuses on original works by living American artists such as Steve Armes and James Tennison. Art displayed in the gallery is in the Impressionist and academic styles, and many artists have Texas ties. In addition to works on canvas, Kornye West also carries a collection of sculpture.
