In 1936, Casa Mañana (or, the House of Tomorrow) brought Broadway to Fort Worth. But it wouldn’t last. The outdoor complex was dismantled after the Texas Centennial Celebration to help fund the war effort. In 1957, however, the theater was ressurrected, this time as the space we know now—a fully enclosed, 1,805 theater-in-the-round with the cool aluminum doomed “lid.” Casa Mañana, Inc. produces musicals and more, mostly of the family-friendly variety.
