Who’s the babe behind this toy land? Candace Williams, former teacher and chef in charge at Kids Cooking Company. She and her husband Wes Williams run the neighboring toy store, which stocks a ridiculous number of playthings. Don’t worry. Almost everything here is educational, too. Clients include teachers and children’s therapists, which is why the shop offers a multitude of science- and arts-based kits. They’re also one of the few shops around that keeps a steady supply of German lines, like HABA hand-painted blocks and Bruder trucks, which attract people from all over DFW. If your tots are already bookworms, ask Candace for reading suggestions. She’s an expert.
