From the Designer (Sponsored)

Amy Thomasson, owner and principal designer of House of Amelia, established her boutique interior design firm in 2013.  After receiving her degree in interior design from Baylor University, she continued to hone her design skills and expertise working with well-respected design influencers in the Dallas design community before opening her award-winning company.

Amy enjoys educating her clients about the many nuances of design and how it influences their daily lives.  As the principal designer at House of Amelia, she takes the role of social influencer quite seriously.  Sensitivity to and social responsibility for the environment and resources are always a core value in her design philosophy. The opportunity to create spaces that are energy efficient, as well as beautiful and comfortable, is always an exciting challenge.  Sustainably grown resources, organic cotton, natural fibers such as wool and silk are design elements that play fundamental parts in her design.  She believes the use of natural elements keep a space comfortable and relaxing.  These passions are the driving influence in her projects and are clearly evident in her selections.  In every project she strives to take the opportunity to keep vintage pieces out of our landfill by giving old pieces new life.

By incorporating sustainability as well as use of innovative new products and processes, the team at House of Amelia skillfully marries the artistic and functional aspects of construction and design.  Whether it’s a master bath renovation or full-scale new construction project, the team at House of Amelia enjoys being an integral part of creating environments that give our clients a beautiful, organized, and thoughtful aesthetic.  This pragmatic approach is balanced with an effort to infuse each space with the client’s personality and respond to their unique needs.
