Established in 1984, the McKinney Avenue Contemporary (MAC) is housed in a can’t-miss purple building that was formerly a leather company. The 18,000-square-foot space in Uptown includes two theaters, 2,800 square feet of exhibition space, a coffee shop, and a bookstore.
The MAC supports all kinds of art, from live theater to visual art to performance art. The in-house theater group, the Kitchen Dog Theater, performs several shows throughout the year, and more than 54 visual art exhibitions have been held here since the company’s inception. The MAC is also part of the Dallas Art Dealers Association.
