Located in East Dallas, the Fan Man Showroom and Olde Fan Museum specializes in restoration, repair, and reproduction of old fans and fan parts. It’s hard to imagine a fan collection that stretches beyond a single room, but the Fan Man has more than 600 unique fans spaced throughout a 4,000-square-foot facility. The collection includes spring wound, gyro, column, perfume, belt drive, and ribbon blade fans as well as fans that run on water, fuel, and solar power. Many fans in the Fan Man’s collection date back to the turn of the 20th century, and some even trace back to the 1890s. The Fan Man repairs and restores fans based on factory records and photographs, and it also offers research aid to those looking to learn about vintage fans.
