Arts & Letters Live, the Dallas Museum of Art’s popular literary series, has entertained and educated more than 100,000 people since its inception in 1992. The season runs for five months, from mid-January to mid-June, and the series has attracted some impressive authors, including a number of Pulitzer Prize winners such as John Updike, Frank McCourt, and Carol Shields. The DMA breaks down the events for Arts & Letters into subcategories like Texas Bound, where actors read stories with Texas themes, or Fresh Ink, in which authors talk about newly released books. Arts & Letters also has a series of special events that attract storytellers from David Sedaris, Ira Glass, and even former First Lady Laura Bush. Events are typically held in the DMA’s Horchow Auditorium.
