Sassetta’s Italian-influenced menu includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a chic, casual setting characterized by Headington Companies’ hallmark emphasis on art. (In this case, it’s a striking sculpture on the patio that Sassetta shares with sister restaurant Wheelhouse.) For breakfast, stop in for toasted brioche and ricotta. At lunch and dinner, starters such as lamb tartare are followed by salads and pastas meant for sharing. Pizzas have nice chew and blistered crusts. Don’t miss the pie topped with taleggio, black pepper, and burnt honey. The decadent dessert list includes lemon layer cake and an outstanding roasted banana budino—Italy’s answer to a luxurious, grown-up pudding cup. The wine list is all-Italian and well researched, though if you’re not drinking a spritz, you might be missing the point.
