It’s a bit on the pricey side—$13 for a cheeseburger and at least $10 for a glass of wine—but that doesn’t seem to bother the throngs who flock here nightly. As much as we hate to admit it, it’s totally worth the wait. Service is exceptional, and the food is always on target. Few restaurants can pull off great prime rib—especially restaurants that don’t revolve around steak. But the warm, pink, buttery beef at Houston’s is shockingly sublime, as is the ahi salad, with its generous portion of perfectly rare tuna. The people (read: cougar) watching is prime.
