Peter Colombo, a Detroit native, runs Big D Pizza out of his Alfonso’s Italian Restaurant. For the last couple of years, Colombo has been quietly making the Detroit pizza of his youth in the kitchen of his Lake Highlands restaurant. His combo is a classic, with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, and onions.
