The heart of Oak Hill Academy’s curriculum lies in its multi-sensory teaching strategies. Having served the needs of learning different students for 30 years, Oak Hill Academy is dedicated to unveiling the Magnificent Mind of each student and drawing attention to gifts that might otherwise be hidden in a traditional classroom.
Oak Hill Academy offers two distinct programs for students with learning challenges, GATE and PRISM. The GATE program serves students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, speech-language delays, and Sensory Integration Disorder, and allows each child to reach new academic heights through Oak Hill’s challenging and engaging multi-sensory models. GATE is for children age 3 through 12th grade and focuses on the remediation of the student’s learning differences with the ultimate goal of college preparation.
The PRISM program is geared toward students with more complex learning differences. PRISM is for children age 5 through 12th grade, with learning challenges that affect every aspect of life, not just in an academic setting, and is especially beneficial for bright students diagnosed with a spectrum disorder. The emphasis of the PRISM program is on fostering and developing core academic skills and life application education that supports the goal of adult independence.
