HPPDS’s vision is to build a firm foundation for young children’s later learning and growth. This is achieved through their mission of partnering with families to educate the whole child within a nurturing Christian environment.
Partners with Families: HPPDS establishes meaningful partnerships by matching new families with a “Shepherd Family,” inviting parents to participate in the classroom and school community, providing numerous volunteer opportunities including Parent Council, and scheduling regular parent-teacher conferences.
Educates the Whole Child: HPPDS believes that each area of early development is integral to building a firm foundation for later learning and growth. Social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development is encouraged through an intentional, developmentally appropriate curriculum. Teachers tailor classroom experiences to meet the needs of each child in an environment of inquiry and hands-on learning.
Nurturing Christian Environment: HPPDS teachers are committed to modeling Biblical principles and helping their children develop personal relationships with Jesus Christ. Children learn the teachings of the Bible through their Godly Play class, chapel, and their school-wide positive reinforcement system based on the Fruit of the Spirit.
