Messina Madson has devoted her career to criminal litigation and criminal justice reform, serving more than a decade at the Dallas DA’s office and now as a partner at Madson Castello, PLLC, a boutique criminal defense firm. Leveraging her institutional knowledge of Dallas County and diversion, she advocates for clients and helps them take steps toward healthy, productive lives outside the criminal justice system. She prioritizes early results and fights to limit long-term effects for her clients. Named Prosecutor of the Year in 2015, she led office-wide litigation training before she became the youngest attorney ever promoted to first assistant, the highest non-elected position to the District Attorney.
Madson created the largest DA-run diversion unit in the nation, established the DA-in-schools program, and oversaw more than 200 attorneys and 500 total employees. A negotiator and trial attorney with a proven track record, Madson has more than 200 jury trials to her credit. She devotes her skills and experience to proactive and aggressive representation of her clients. She provides creative legal counsel with the highest ethical standards to achieve the best possible results for clients in need of legal representation for protective orders, DWI, theft, drug possession, robbery, assault, family violence, murder, manslaughter, and white-collar crimes.
