Sina Matin, MD is a Board Certified Surgeon and serves as both the Chief of Surgery and Medical Director of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine. In addition to general surgery, he is highly experienced in advanced laparoscopic surgery, revisional bariatric surgery, and minimally invasive surgery using small incisions and specialized video cameras through robotic technology.

Dr. Matin is the President of the Texas Association for Bariatric Surgery (TABS) and is renowned in the Dallas Fort Worth region for helping morbidly obese patients gain their lives and health back through surgical weight loss treatments. He is also passionate about helping patients maintain a healthy weight, even if they are not eligible for surgery, by working hand-in-hand with them to find the most appropriate non-surgical weight loss option.

Dr. Matin earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Old Dominion University in Virginia. He then earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, followed by completion of his surgical residency and research fellowship at the University of Texas in Galveston. Dr. Matin also completed the Baylor College of Medicine Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship in Houston.

Dr. Matin lives in Southlake with his wife, Suzy, and their two children. He also enjoys exercising and the great outdoors.
