Dr. Raza is board certified in cardiovascular disease and trained in invasive and advanced non-invasive cardiology at the University of Vermont and Harvard's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. This includes echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI and cardiac CT.
His focus is on the use of cardiac imaging in the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic cardiovascular issues as well as in cardio-oncology where his goal is tominimize cardiovascular toxicity during cancer treatment and to attenuate cardiovascular risks during cancer survivorship. In addition, he has a special interest in preventive and peri-operative cardiology and works closely with his primary care and surgical partners.
Dr. Raza remains active in clinical research in heart failure and has continued to publish scientific papers since finishing training. He is a Stanford Scholar from the University of Miami, was Resident of the Year and served as both Chief Resident and Chief Fellow during his training. He is a member of numerous professional cardiology societies and associations and serves on the Radiation Safety Committee and Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Medical City Dallas.
A South Florida native, he is an avid sports fan of the Miami Hurricanes, Dolphins and Heat. He and his wife, Dr Samreen Raza, have two children.
