Mustafa Dohadwala, MD was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After receiving his undergraduate degree in Sociology at Rice University, he migrated to the northeast to begin pursuing his medical education at The Johns Hopkins Medical School where he won the esteemed Mall Prize for outstanding first-year medical student. After completing medical school, he obtained his internal medicine training at Harvard Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was recognized for outstanding teaching of medical students. He went on to complete his cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology fellowships at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. A true Texan at heart, Dr. Dohadwala and his wife relocated to Texas in 2014 to raise their family and he joined North Texas Heart Center.
Dr. Dohadwala is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. As a heart rhythm specialist, his interests include treatment of conduction system disorders (i.e. heart block, sinus node dysfunction), atrial fibrillation and other atrial (upper chamber) arrhythmias, ventricular (lower chamber) arrhythmias as well as advanced heart failure. He is well trained in implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization devices as well as in performing complex ablation procedures for conditions including atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial fibrillation, and ventricular tachycardia.
His first priority is to keep his patients’ needs at the center of his care. He is a proud, loving husband and father, an active member of a multi-cultural community, and a highly skilled and compassionate cardiac electrophysiologist.
