Dr. Dacso, a native Texan, studied medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she graduated magna cum laude. She sought additional training in tropical medicine and rare diseases at the Autonomous University of Barcelona from which she graduated with a Masters of Science and Tropical Medicine summa cum laude. As a resident, and then chief resident in Dermatology in Galveston, Dr. Dacso was the recipient of many honors recognizing her teaching and research capabilities. She completed a fellowship at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology/SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York City and is dual board-certified in dermatology and dermatopathology, one of a handful of physicians in the country with this certification.
Dr. Dacso recognizes the importance that comprehensive skin care has for the entire family. Her expertise extends from diagnosis and therapy in all aspects of medical dermatology to aesthetic and cosmetic medicine (including injectables and facial rejuvenation). She also has special expertise as a consulting pathologist for patients with Hansen’s disease (leprosy). As a fluent Spanish speaker, she is attuned to the cultural context of medicine and brings that sensitivity to each patient encounter. She maintains her academic interest by publishing in the medical literature and serving as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She holds leadership and committee positions within the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology, and the Texas Dermatological Society, and she has showcased her work at local and national meetings.
Outside of the office, Dr. Dacso enjoys spending time with her family, exercise, traveling and music. Dr. Dacso is committed to providing outstanding dermatologic care to you and your family, and she looks forward to welcoming you to our practice.
