Keith M. Cavaness, DO specializes in surgery for cancer and benign diseases of the liver, bile ducts, pancreas, stomach, small intestine, colon, retroperitoneal tumors, spleen and adrenal glands. He is experienced in the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques that include laparoscopy and robotics. Dedicated to delivering quality care and improving the patient experience, Dr. Cavaness will consider minimally invasive surgical techniques first when surgery is indicated offering his patients a higher probability for moderate scarring and rapid recovery.
Dr. Cavaness is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He graduated from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo, CA and completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI considered to be one of the top research universities in the world. Dr. Cavaness was fellowship trained in Transplant Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas pursuant to completing a fellowship in Surgical Oncology/ Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
Dr. Cavaness continues to be involved in clinical research focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. He is currently welcoming new patients and accepts most insurance plans. He is on the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth.
