John T. Preskitt, MD, FACS is a board certified surgeon with Surgical Oncology Specialists. A long-standing member of the Baylor medical staff and Sammons Cancer Center faculty, Dr. Preskitt established Surgical Oncology Specialists in 2010 as a group of fellowship trained surgical oncologists. As such, SOS is very active in Baylor-Sammons Cancer Center activities and also collaborates closely with the Baylor Liver-Pancreas Center.
He specializes in surgery for cancer, particularly head and neck cancers, thyroid and parathyroid tumors, gastrointestitnal malignancies, and skin tumors including melanoma, breast diseases and breast cancer, and venous access procedures. Dr. Preskitt also peforms general surgeries for gallbladder removal, biliary tract disease, and abdominal wall hernias.
Dr. Preskitt earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas before completing an internship and residency at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. He is fellowship trained through The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in Houston.
Dr. Preskitt is married to an operating room nurse and they have two children. They enjoy exercising for their health, including gym work and cycling.
