John E. McGarry, M.D.
Dr. McGarry is a native Texan as he was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University before attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical Center at Houston. He completed his residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and was fellowship trained in sports medicine by Dr. Alan Barber at Plano Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center.
Dr. McGarry specializes in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, as well as knee joint replacements and general orthopedics. He believes in utilizing minimally invasive procedures where applicable and uses these techniques in such surgeries as arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and ACL reconstructions. Dr. McGarry is also highly trained and experienced in fracture care and is currently accepting new patients.
Dr. McGarry is happily married and has 3 children, an 18 year old daughter, a 4 year old son and a 1 1/2 year old little girl. He loves the Dallas Cowboys, movies, reading, traveling and exercising.
