Dr. Crates is a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He has previously served as Vice Chief of Orthopedics at the Medical Center of Plano in 2001-2002 and was on multiple administrative committees. Dr. Crates is currently on the Executive Committee at Baylor Frisco Medical Center at Frisco where he performs surgery.
Dr. Crates enjoys lecturing and publishing on orthopedic-related topics. He recently published a chapter in the text for American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Crates has been recognized by The National Registry of Who€™s Who for his research and work in orthopedics, D Magazine named him for €œBest Doctors€ and he recently was honored as a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly. Dr. Crates is currently the team physician for Greenhill High School in Addison and is proud to treat patients of all ages and injuries.
Dr. Crates is the Founder & CEO of Foot Innovations, a research and development company that consults for orthopedic related products. He is the Foot & Ankle Consultant for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club since April 2004, and currently the Foot & Ankle Consultant, Assistant Team Physician for the Frisco Rough Riders since April 2003.
