G. Kimble Jett, MD is a board certified Diplomat of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a distinguished surgeon with extensive experience in cardiac, thoracic, vascular and venous surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive heart and lung surgery utilizing robotic and video assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) techniques. His expertise also includes off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic aneurysm repair, endovascular stent grafting, and carotid artery surgery.
Dr. Jett has traveled worldwide teaching innovative surgical techniques, including robotic thoracic surgery and off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting, a technique he helped develop. He was also instrumental in the development of the first heart assist device approved by the FDA and he trained hundreds of heart surgeons on its insertion and operation.
Currently, Dr. Jett is serving as the medical director of Robotic Thoracic Surgery at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. In addition, he maintains hospital privileges at The Heart Hospital Baylor Denton, Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, and Baylor Medical Center at McKinney.
