Detlef Wencker, MD specializes in the treatment of patients with advanced heart failure. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation, and Cardiovascular Disease. His clinical interests include ventricular assist devices and cardiac transplant.
Prior to joining Baylor Scott & White Advanced Heart Failure Clinic, Dr. Wencker was on the medical staff at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore where he served as section chief for the Advanced Heart Failure Program overseeing mechanical circulatory support device, heart transplant, and pulmonary hypertension. He was also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Wencker is currently on the medical staff at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas and Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital.
