Chad Carlton, MD, FACS, FASBMS, is an experienced bariatric surgeon at LoneStar Bariatrics in Frisco, Texas.
Dr. Carlton was born and raised in Dallas and received his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin before earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He then went on to complete his internship and general surgery residency at the renowned Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
After completing his rotations in Pennsylvania, Dr. Carlton returned home to continue his surgical training at the Bariatric Medical Institute (BMI) of Texas in San Antonio and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston. These studies included an advanced fellowship in bariatric, minimally invasive laparoscopic, and robotic surgery, where he studied with a world leader in robotic surgery, Dr. Erik Wilson.
Over his career, Dr. Carlton has received several prestigious awards, including the physician-voted D Magazine Top Doctor in both Dallas and Collin counties. Since completing his fellowship and surgical boards, Dr. Carlton is now one of a select few who can boast being a fellow in both the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS).
