Dr. Arshad Malik, MD, FACP is a board-certified gastroenterologist in Plano, Texas. He is one of few GI specialists who has done 2 separate fellowships, one in gastroenterology and another one in Hepatology (liver diseases).

He brings a unique touch to gastroenterology practice with his vast knowledge, innate ability to connect with patients and expert but judicious use of GI tests and procedures. His demonstrated ability to improve the long-term health of his patients has earned him the respect and admiration of patients and colleagues.

Excellent medical care not only involves prompt and compassionate service, but also active and ongoing patient education throughout the evaluation and treatment process. Dr. Malik finds that patient satisfaction is highest when they are able to effectively participate in their health care decisions.

Dr. Malik specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and digestive disorders including particularly important health maintenance roles such as colon cancer screening with colonoscopy. Common digestive symptoms that Dr. Malik sees patients for at his clinic are:
Gas and Bloating
Rectal Bleeding
Stomach Pains
Swallowing Difficulty

In order to treat conditions affecting the GI system and formulate a treatment plan, Dr. Arshad Malik must first determine the reason for the condition and establish a diagnosis. Dr. Malik primarily uses three different gastrointestinal procedures to gather the information needed to recommend treatment for his patients:
Upper Endoscopy (EGD)
Capsule Endoscopy

Hemorrhoid Banding - Remove hemorrhoids in just a few minutes! The banding procedure works by cutting off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid. During the brief and painless procedure, a small rubber band is placed just above the internal hemorrhoid where there are few pain-sensitive nerve endings. This causes the hemorrhoid to shrink, and the band will fall off typically within 24 hours.
