Dr. Anup Pradhan is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in sports medicine—including the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries, fractures, tendon disorders, arthritis, cartilage restoration, and shoulder replacement surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Following medical school, Dr. Pradhan completed the prestigious Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at Duke University. During his fellowship, he also received specialty training in anatomic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, cartilage restoration and treatment of patellar instability.
Before joining Southwest Joint Replacement Center, Dr. Pradhan served as a team physician for Duke University basketball and football teams, Hershey Bears Hockey (part of the Washington Capitals organization), Penn State wrestling, North Carolina Central University football, Shelton High School football, Southern High School football and Hershey High School football.
His passion for sports medicine and extensive experience treating athletes made him a natural choice for “Orthopedic Surgeon for the 2013 Heart of Dallas Bowl” held at the iconic Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. He is a member of the American Acadeny of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Piedmonth Orthopaedic Society.
