With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Burns has been chosen multiple times as a D Magazine Best Doctor, as well as 14 years as a Texas Super Doctor®. He has also won multiple awards as one of the nation’s best doctors. Dr. Burns’ credentials speak for themselves and have marked his entire life. He has excelled academically at every level, graduating with honors from Baylor University and being voted Outstanding Senior Man.
He was chosen as an outstanding young alumnus of Baylor University, graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School with honors (AOA), and completed his fellowship at Harvard Affiliated Hospitals. He is board certified in plastic surgery and is world renowned as a leader in lasers and related technologies, cosmetic surgery, skin care, and pediatric vascular tumors. He is a past president of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the largest and most prestigious clinical laser society in the world. Dr. Burns continues to perform research and publish his work. He is a noted international authority on the wealth of technologies helping to advance the field.
He teaches his surgical techniques to physicians, both in Dallas and across the globe. He continues to serve on the scientific advisory board of the most cutting-edge medical technology companies in the world, bringing advanced technology and techniques to the patients in his practice and to EpiCentre Skin Care and Laser Center, where he serves as medical director. Dr. Burns has a special interest in face lifting and laser improvement of severe sun damaged skin and wrinkles. He has been featured as a guest on Oprah Winfrey’s medical miracles show for his work. With a strong commitment to his practice, his patients, and his Dallas area roots, Dr. Burns also strives for balance in his life and to live out the values his parents taught him and his faith demands. He has a passion for people and truly cares about each patient as an individual, worthy of his best efforts.
His passions include striving to serve Jesus Christ better every day, his family, golf, and mountain air. He and his wife of 40 years, Ginny, started the Prodigal ministry at Watermark Church, which serves families struggling with the chaos of children or spouses caught up in addiction or self-destructive behavior.
