The unmarked wood door to this town square bar is easy to miss. Climb the steep staircase to a low-lit, smoky space with dark woods, red drapes, and walls covered with portraits and traditional European-style art. If you find a lull in conversation, there’s plenty to distract. Play chess or flip through books pulled from the bookshelves that line the bar’s walls. Shimmy up to the bar to watch mixologists shake, stir, spitz, and maybe even set things on fire. (Try the Smoking Jacket, which is prepped with smoke from blowtorch-fired maple wood. Paschall may feel like a hidden gem to Dallasites, but Denton dwellers are already fans. Expect a line, but know it’s worth the wait.
