Since 1980, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture has offered the community with a forum for rigorous discussion on any number of intellectual subjects, from literature and art to history and politics. Past events have included book and film discussion groups that meet monthly, Friday night salons that touch on topics like individualism and recession, and a program on the culture and cuisine of India. Typically, each of these activities are held at the institute’s house and conference center in Uptown, and most have tuition fees. The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture also organizes book signings, lectures, and other events designed to bring bright minds together.
