The Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s locale in a mini-mall off Mockingbird Lane is a bit inconspicuous. But considering this local theater group spent the better part of the ’80s performing inside a struggling pocket sandwich shop (hence the name), their current venue is certainly a step up. Here PST stages its wild foray into the world of theater, from Trailer Trash From Outer Space to Death: The Musical.
The stage is elevated, though only slightly, so audience members are kept on a relatively even level with the actors. You can sit as close as you can stand—the closest seats are practically on stage—which means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to toss your popcorn at the actors, a practice that is highly encouraged. The kitchen cooks up plenty of other treats, including, of course, a selection of pocket sandwiches.
