Lakewood Theater

Profile

Built in 1938, this art deco theater—the oldest single-screen theater in Dallas—has stayed true to its roots, even through several renovations. Originally, the theater ran films that had already been shown at popular downtown theaters, but over the years, it began hosting premieres of Dallas films. The Lakewood Theater also hosts music, performing arts, and comedy events, such as Oscar-watching parties and screenings of Casablanca, Nine Inch Nails: Another Version of Truth, and other films.
