David Dike Fine Art opened in 1986. Although Dike has acquired many pieces depicting images such as the sweeping desert landscapes of West Texas to the beaches of Galveston, there’s way more to this gallery. David Dike Fine Art specializes in American and European oil paintings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so pieces by Charles Bowling, James Stovall Morris, and Bror Utter are accompanied by Emma Richardson Cherry’s images of the Swiss Alps and Frank Klepper’s European Street Scene. David Dike Fine Arts also organizes the annual Texas Art Auction, in which early Texas works from a list of dozens of artists are put up for sale.
