Highland Park Village

Profile

Highland Park Village was the nation’s only self-contained shopping center when it first opened in 1931, and, nearly seven decades later, it was designated as a National Historic Landmark. Today, the center’s elegant Spanish architecture is accented by sweeping door arches, red tile roofs, and an ornate fountain. The complex is an emporium of luxury stores, including Stella McCartney, Christian Dior, Trina Turk, Arkis, Lela Rose, Ralph Lauren (the largest in Texas), Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Rag & Bone, Harry Winston and Chanel. Shoppers can also find specialty goods, like artisan cheese from Molto Formaggio, expertly composed floral arrangements from Avant Garden, and authentic Italian soaps from the LAFCO New York apothecary. Upscale seafood restaurant Cafe Pacific is a longtime favorite on the Park Cities dining scene, and Mi Cocina brings in the masses for Tex-Mex, while Bistro 31 spots offer finer dining and after hours, a social cocktail scene. The Village Theater, which closed in late 2009 for renovations, is now reopen for a family outing or date night.
