The cozy stage in front of a brick-and-mortar backdrop has become a familiar sight for comedy fans. For more than a quarter century, well-known comedians such as Dave Chappelle, Jeff Dunham, Lily Tomlin, Gabriel Iglesias, and Ralphie May have graced the Improv stage.
The club usually hosts featured comedians for a three- or four-day set, often with two shows on Friday or Saturday. Most weeks are filled with one-night-only acts, but if the aspiring comic inside you wants to come out, the Improv has sporadic open mic nights as well. The menu is full of standard club fare—think fried foods and sandwiches—and it’s available at the first show every night and the second show Saturday night. If you go any other time, you’ll have to satisfy your hunger with appetizers, desserts, and an assortment of alcohol from the bar.
Every Saturday morning, the Improv offers Laugh It Off, a defensive driving course taught by a professional comedian.
