Sundown Collaborative Theatre

Formed by six Denton actors who were frustrated by the area theater scene, Sundown Collaborative Theatre hopes to provide an original perspective on art by making it a collaborative effort, rather than the vision of one individual. SCT is still new—its first production, Conversations About Love, was performed in 2008—but it has already staged more than a dozen plays, including new works penned by members of the company. Past shows have ranged from takes on the classic children’s stories of the Brothers Grimm to a stage adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange. The group has no home theater, instead roaming between small Denton venues such as Green Space Arts Collective and Hydrant Cafe.
