Stolen Shakespeare Guild

The Stolen Shakespeare Guild’s view and voice are brand new, even if the works it stages are centuries old. What started as a student project at Texas Woman’s University was transformed into a full-fledged theater company in 2006, dedicated to performing not only the legendary catalogue of plays by William Shakespeare, but also works from which he drew his inspiration and works heavily influenced by Shakespeare’s style.

Productions cover a range of eras, from some of Shakespeare’s most acclaimed works, such as Romeo and Juliet, to Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest to Kiss Me, Kate, Cole Porter’s play within a play about a musical version of The Taming of the Shrew. New plays open on Friday nights, followed by Saturday evening and Sunday matinee shows at the Hardy and Better Sanders Theatre inside the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
