Q Cinema, a nonprofit group whose primary goal is to provide a voice for the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community, had fairly humble origins. In 1998, Shawn Moore and Todd Camp established a small group with the intention of occasionally screening films and holding discussions at TCU. But within a year, the group had established the annual Fort Worth Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, and it has slowly added to its influence ever since. The film festival, now more than a decade old, happens early each June and screens dozens of feature and short films from countries around the world. Q Cinema also has a Spring Film Series that features one film screening each month, as well as live programs and fundraisers throughout the year.
