MBS Productions is a new theater company, and not just because it started in 2004. The group specializes in producing theater that has never been seen before, whether in the form of original plays and musicals or simply new translations and adaptations of existing works. In a way, every MBS show is a world premiere.
The company started when Mark-Brian Sonna first produced his compilation show called Theatre of Death at Teatro Dallas. The program, comprising six short plays about death, was successful enough to inspire MBS’ inaugural season in 2005. The group continued to grow in the following years, adding more plays, increasing the number of show days per week, and eventually doubling run times from two to four weeks. Today, MBS offers six programs per season to an audience hungry for unique and unseen theater.
