The seed was sown at a young age for Andrew. For as long has he can remember, the need to create, design and express himself has been integral to his identity. In creating A. Michael Architecture, Andrew is striving to create exceptional, crafted, memorable spaces that are accessible, Inspiring and supremely livable for his clients.
Andrew Founded AMA in January of 2020. The goal is, and will continue to be, a client focused/relational approach to the design process. By looking at each project as having its own unique set of problems and unique set of solutions, AMA truly lets client needs and personality drive the creative process. Andrews design aesthetic focuses on premium quality materials and an appreciation for traditional forms in architecture. Andrew believes that knowing the traditional rules allows him to take some agency in developing new, exciting and sometimes abstract ideas throughout the design process. The end result is a comfortable, contextually relevant, client centered project that is ready for a lifetime of memories.
Prior to launching AMA, Andrew worked under notable Dallas architects David Stocker, AIA, Mark Hoesterey, AIA and Enrique Montenegro, AIA at SHM Architects. He worked on over 50 projects over his 10 year career there in the metroplex and beyond. It was there he developed his appreciation for the client centered approach to architecture, and the importance of comfortable classical forms along with creating new ways to mold and shape personal space.
Andrew spent his childhood in New York, Illinois, Colorado and Singapore prior to settling in San Antonio, TX. After graduating from Texas Tech University School of Architecture, he landed in Dallas, TX. When he isn’t practicing architecture, Andrew enjoys spending his free time with his wife Elaine and children Thea and Teague.
