Profile

Folks have been lining up out the door of the restaurant since it opened in 1958, when the price of a plate lunch was 65 cents. The cost may have gone up, but their solid, old-fashioned, Deep South cooking hasn’t changed. There’s fried bone-in chicken, meat loaf, and chicken-fried steak accompanied by all of the usual suspects, such as mashed potatoes, candied yams, turnip greens, and baked squash. And coconut pie. And blueberry pancakes. Where you choose to take a post-meal nap is up to you.
