The Mediterranean meets the rising sun at Al-Amir, which took the place of a Japanese restaurant. The result is an odd, melting-pot ambience. Concentrate on the plate: Middle Eastern expectations are well-met with good renditions of hummus, baba ghanoush, and lamb. Dinner only.
