A little history about us:
North Texas Allergy & Asthma Associates was founded by Dr. Harvey Black in 1927. Dr. Black spent many years studying the causes of allergies and over time developed a test for allergy. He was a president of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, co-wrote the textbook Practice of Allergy in 1945 and was truly a pioneer in his time.
In 1950, James Holman, M.D. joined the practice and grew North Texas Allergy & Asthma Associates (which at the time was Holman Allergy Clinic) into one of the foremost allergy practices in the Southwest, with patients referred from all over the region.
In July 2004, Dr. Sandeep Gupta joined his practice after completing his medical training in Los Angeles. Dr. Gupta completed his allergy, asthma, and immunology training at the UCLA Veterans Administration Health Care System. Prior to that, he served as a clinical faculty member at UCLA and was on staff in the department of internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He completed his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is a graduate of the University of Southern California - Keck School of Medicine. Throughout his education and training, he has been awarded with many honors and distinctions. Dr. Gupta is married with four children and enjoys spending his free time traveling and working around the yard. His areas of interest include rhinosinusits, and asthma.
Dr. Nastaran Safdarian joined North Texas Allergy and Asthma Associates in 2011. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of North Texas and completed medical school at Texas Tech University. After medical school, she trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with an emphasis on Women's Health. Dr. Safdarian completed her fellowship in allergy, asthma, and immunology at the University of Michigan. She is a proud Texan and glad to be back home here in North Texas.
Dr. Gupta and Dr. Safdarian continue to carry forward the pioneering tradition of Drs. Holman and Black, meshing together new age technology and training with the proven techniques of the past. Recently, the center has gone through substantial renovation, expansion, and modernization.
