Dr. Stuart Akerman is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist with Digestive Health Associates of Texas (DHAT) and sees patients at his new office on Preston Road in Plano. Dr. Akerman was originally practicing in New York but relocated to Collin County, where he has been helping patients since 2015.
In addition to EGD/Upper Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, Dr. Akerman is fellowship trained in multiple advanced endoscopy procedures such as ERCP, Endoscopic Ultrasound, Fine Needle Aspiration, Cholangioscopy, and others. He is excited to be working with other well trained endoscopists in his medical group, in order to increase the availability for complex procedures and better serve patients in a timely manner.
In addition to consultation and followup visits, in-office hemorrhoid therapy and capsule endoscopy are offered in the office. Dr. Akerman approaches a consultation as an opportunity to meet a new patient and provide care as part of a team alongside the patient’s referring physician.
