Dr. Steve Byrd is a Dallas-based board certified plastic surgeon with over 25 years of experience. His philosophy is simple: compassionate care before, during, and after surgery. Being one of the best plastic surgeons in the United States wasn't an overnight accomplishment, but years of actively learning and teaching have given Dr. Byrd a remarkable breadth of experience to draw on.
Dr. Byrd was one of the first five plastic surgeons to do liposuction in the United States. Recently he became one of the first surgeons to use Zeltiq, a non-invasive liposuction option. Byrd routinely teaches plastic surgeons the nuances of rhinoplasty surgery and also developed an endoscopic approach to facelifts. His most recent development, the EarWell system, allows parents to correct the most common birth defect--ear deformities-- without invasive surgery. With his interests running the gamut from cleft palate to "Mommy Makeovers", Dr. Steve Byrd is difficult to pigeonhole.
One of the more recent “buzzwords” is the “Mommy Makeover." While the title may seem flippant, women who have had multiple pregnancies, given birth, or breastfed their children, a “Mommy Makeover” can give them a new positive self-image. Long after hormones have returned to normal, the physical damage does not repair. Weight loss and exercise won’t undo the stretch marks. The sagging skin around the abdomen and the sagging breasts do not respond to exercise because muscle is not the issue. The “Mommy Makeover” gives women options.
“Mommy Makeovers” are a combination of breast and abdomen procedures, including some combination of the following:
Mastopexy (breast lift)
Some women find that their breasts actually gain volume after childbirth, but gravity takes that plus and moves it unattractively south! The majority of women tend to lose breast volume and opt for a combination of Breast Augmentation and Mastopexy to refill and lift the breasts back where they were pre-parenthood.
The hardest part for many women is convincing themselves that they’re worth the effort and investment. A confident, vital, and healthy parent is a critical key in training confident, vital, and healthy children. The “Mommy Makeover” and the resulting positive self-image are the best gifts you can give yourself.
You are worth it!
