Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, Dr. Shelley A. Hall, MD has practiced at Baylor University Medical Center since 1997.  She received her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School where she also completed her residency and fellowship. Dr. Hall is currently serving as Chief of Transplant Cardiology, Heart Failure and Mechanical Support for Baylor University Medical Center and she is an Associate Professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.  She also serves as the Heart Councilor for Texas Transplant Society and recently completed a 2-year term as Region 4 (Texas and Oklahoma) representative on the National Thoracic United Network for Organ Sharing Board.

During her tenure at Baylor, she has been a key driver in the development and growth of the Cardiac Transplant Program, assuming directorship in 2002.  The Cardiac Transplant Program ranked first in Texas in volume and second in the nation for 2013.   She is passionate about finding a solution for patients with advanced heart failure and allowing them a second lease on life.  “We offer our patients a comprehensive program with extremely dedicated team members who aggressively pursue ways to save lives every day,” said Dr. Hall.

Dr. Hall participates in many local and national professional societies including Dallas County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Transplant Society, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Thoracic Transplant, Heart Failure Society of America, American Heart Association and International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. She is also a member of the TMA committee on Transfusion and Transplantation.

Dr. Hall was honored by her peers in 2014 as one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas. In addition, for the last two consecutive years, she has been listed in Texas Monthly’s Super Doctors®.

Raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, she relocated to Dallas in 1982 and attended the University of Dallas as a Biochem pre-med major.  She is an ardent sports fan, raised a Dallas Cowboys enthusiast and a season ticket holder to the Dallas Stars since their inception.  She and her husband, Dr. Rick Snyder, have five children.
